当前与未来巡天下的银河系消光视界

摘要
我们在银河系（MW）研究方面已取得诸多进展。尽管如此，银河系大部分区域仍属未知，在探索银河系远侧方面仍有惊人突破有待实现。聚焦于当前巡天如 Two Micron All-Sky Survey (2MASS)、Vista Variables in the Via Lactea Survey (VVV) 及其扩展 VVVX 下的银河系消光视界问题，消光视界是一项根本性困难，我在此意在揭示我们的无知有多深，并尝试为借助未来近红外银河系巡天加以改进提出建议。
