赫歇尔探测的远红外/射电相关关系

摘要

我们旨在确定在远红外和射电波段选择的星系的静止系8-1000微米流量S(IR)与单色射电流量S(1.4GHz)的比值q(IR),以寻找该比值随红移、光度或尘埃温度演化的迹象,并识别出任何远红外亮异常源——这些源是探索为何远红外/射电相关关系通常如此紧密(而主流理论却暗示变化几乎不可避免)的有用实验室。我们使用赫歇尔(HerMES;PEP)和VLA在GOODS-N天区获得的流量限制的250微米和1.4 GHz样本。我们利用PACS和SPIRE以及斯皮策、SCUBA、AzTEC和MAMBO的数据,利用覆盖24-1250微米的十个波段来确定总红外输出。我们还探索了一个L(IR)匹配样本的性质,该样本旨在揭示q(IR)随z的演化,覆盖log L(IR)=11-12 L_sun和z=0-2,通过将数据叠加到射电和远红外图像中。对于1.4 GHz选择的星系,我们看到了流量比q(IR)在L(1.4GHz)~10^22.7 W/Hz处存在断裂的初步证据,在该处活动星系核开始主导射电功率密度,并且看到了与z和T(d)的较弱相关性。从我们250微米选择的样本中,我们识别出少量远红外亮异常源,并看到了q(IR)随L(1.4GHz)、L(IR)、T(d)和z的变化趋势,注意到其中一些是相互关联的。对于我们的L(IR)匹配样本,没有证据表明当我们回溯到星系形成时代时q(IR)发生显著变化:我们发现q(IR)随(1+z)^gamma变化,其中在z=0-2范围内gamma = -0.04 ± 0.03;然而,如果忽略z<0.5时最不可靠的数据,我们得到gamma = -0.26 ± 0.07,这是一种适度的演化,可能与ARCADE2看到的射电背景有关,或许是由z>1处普通恒星形成星系中<10微央的射电活动驱动的。
