我们研究单代星系质量函数(SGMF)如何依赖于恒星星团初始恒星质量函数(IMF)存在变化。我们表明，IMF的星团间变化导致一个多分量SGMF，其中给定质量范围内的每个分量可由不同的幂律函数描述。我们还表明，正如年轻银河系星团所观测到的，IMF特征质量约0.3 M的弥散，导致SGMF的低质量斜率与观测到的银河系恒星质量函数相匹配，即使单个星团在低质量端的IMF陡峭得多。
