任务时长对 LISA 科学目标的影响

摘要

LISA 任务的科学目标是在连续 4 年数据流的隐含假设下定义的。基于 LISA Pathfinder 的性能,现在预计 LISA 的占空比约为 0.75\approx 0.75,这将把可用数据的有效跨度减少到 3 年。本文报道了 LISA 科学小组一项研究的结果,该研究受命评估延长任务寿命所带来的额外科学回报。我们探索了多种观测场景,以评估任务时长对任务主要科学目标的影响。我们发现受任务时长影响最大的科学研究涉及宇宙黎明种子黑洞的搜寻,以及通过多波段和多信使观测对恒星级黑洞及其形成通道的研究。我们建议将任务运行延长至 6 年。
