Maffei 群的距离与运动

近来有建议认为邻近星系 Maffei 1 和 2 的距离比先前认为的更远，从而它们不再是 IC 342 同一星系群的成员。我们重新分析了来自哈勃空间望远镜的近红外测光，得到 Maffei 2 的距离为 Mpc。在此距离下，Maffei 群位于 IC 342 群后方 2.5 Mpc，并具有朝向本星系群的 km/s 的奇特速度。这两个不同星系群的负奇特速度很可能是来自英仙-双鱼方向的空洞膨胀的表现。
