发现 T8.5 型矮星 UGPS J0521+3640

我们在 UKIDSS 银道面巡天第 6 次数据发布中搜寻了晚型 T 矮星。此次搜寻产生了两个极具潜力的候选体，两者均已被确认为 T 矮星。其中较亮者 UGPS J0521+3640 被归为 T8.5 光谱型，距离似乎在 7-9 秒差距（pc）之间。两者中较暗者 UGPS J0652+0324 被分类为 T5.5 矮星，估计距离在 28-37 秒差距之间。作为 GLIMPSE360 遗产巡天的一部分，Warm-Spitzer 在 IRAC 通道 1 和 2 的观测数据可用于 UGPS J0521+3640，我们将这些数据与近红外光谱结合以估算其性质。我们发现对于太阳金属丰度，Teff = 600K 和 650K 以及 log g = 4.5 和 5.0 的 BT-Settl 模型拟合最佳。这些参数表明，对于 1 至 5 Gyr 的年龄，其质量在 14 至 32 MJup 之间。这颗极冷 T 矮星的邻近性及其位于银道面的位置，使其成为利用高分辨率自适应光学成像搜寻冷伴星的理想候选体。
