本文展示了邻近 Ic 型超新星 SN 2007gr 在前两个月的光谱和测光监测结果。其极早期的发现（爆发后不到 5 天）以及宿主星系相对较近的距离，促使我们开展了广泛的观测活动。SN 2007gr 表现出平均的峰值光度，但具有异常狭窄的光谱谱线和几乎平坦的光球层速度轮廓。文中展示了光谱中显著的碳特征探测结果，这表明剥离包层超新星的碳丰度存在很大范围的差异。SN 2007gr 可能是解开观测到的核坍缩超新星（CC SNe）多样性之谜的重要一环。
