LS 5039 是少数在甚高能波段被探测到的X射线双星之一，并且可能包含一颗年轻的不吸积脉冲星。发射同步辐射的加速粒子外流可以通过高分辨率射电观测直接成像。射电辐射的形态强烈依赖于致密天体的性质和双星系统的轨道参数。我们展示了覆盖一个轨道周期的 LS 5039 的 VLBA 观测，显示了毫角秒尺度上的形态和天体测量变化。另一方面，我们讨论了 LS 5039 与超新星遗迹 SNR G016.8-01.1 的可能关联。
