我们首次展示了局部相关追踪技术在恒星数据上的强大能力。我们从 3.6 个连续自转周期的六幅多普勒成像图中，重构了长周期 RS CVn 型双星 Gem 的黑子迁移模式。生成的表面流图显示存在微弱的反太阳较差自转，其参数为，以及平均速度为 m s的相干向极黑子迁移。该结果与我们最近的另一项研究结果一致，并在理论上得到了证实。
