来自Sloan数字银河查询早期数据释放的强MgII吸收系统

摘要
我们构建了从SDSS EDR中选取的低离子金属吸收线系统的样本,其MgII λ2796线强度突出。我们样本中有640个吸收系统,其λ2796 REW > 1.0 Å,在5σ置信度下检测到,且红移范围为0.37 < z < 2.27。该样本比以往类似选取条件的样本大约大一个数量级。在本稿中,我们报告了该样本的统计性质的初步结果。
