START作为大规模μ子触发系统的首选探测器

摘要
得益于MRS APD改进版本的问世,基于闪烁体瓦片与MRS APD光读出(START)的高粒度大规模系统的构建取得了进一步进展。通过使用廉价的挤出闪烁体,系统成本现在可以显著降低。基于此设计改进,已组装了超过160个START样品,并证明其具有100%的MIP探测效率和低于0.08 Hz的固有噪声率。经过3.5个月的操作,START特性的长期稳定性得到了确认。
