红移3.91类星体APM 08279+5255的Spitzer/IRS观测

在Spitzer空间望远镜(SST)上,红外光谱仪(IRS)用于获得APM08279+5255(z=3.91)尘埃和气体丰富类星体的低分辨率和中等分辨率光谱。探测到9.235和6.315微米处的氢broad Paschen α和β复合线,以及覆盖观测(rest frame)5.3-35微米(1.08-7.1微米)波段的强红continuum,呈平滑power law。观测到的Pα/Pβ线flux比为1.05±0.2,远离case B值约为2的典型值,也远离高密度高optical厚度 ionized气体区域(~1.8)的简单模型。这一偏离与预期的衰减效应相反。在光谱中未发现3.3微米或6.2微米发射特征,这些特征通常归因于本地宇宙中气体丰富星系的芳香烃。与APM08279+5255的高亮度AGN性质相一致。
