空间望远镜与光学反响映射项目 IX. NGC 5548中宽发射线的速度-延迟图

我们报告了NGC5548光谱中显著宽发射线Ly_alpha、CIV、HeII和H_beta的速度-延迟图。发射线响应位于维里包络内部。速度-延迟图揭示了分层电离结构。5-10光日内的HeII响应具有宽单峰速度轮廓。Ly_alpha、CIV和H_beta响应在10光日内达到峰值,延伸至20光日外,并在10至20光日延迟范围内呈现由5000 km/s分隔的双峰速度轮廓。速度-延迟图显示,先前互相关分析发现的M形滞后-速度结构是具明确外边缘R=20光日的开普勒盘的标志。M的外翼源于维里包络,M的U形内部是速度-延迟平面中椭圆的下半部分。远侧响应弱于近侧响应,因此我们清晰看到速度-延迟椭圆的下半部分,仅模糊看到上半部分。线中心的延迟tau=(R/c)(1-sin(i))=5光日来自倾斜环的近边缘,给出倾角i=45度。黑洞质量M=7x10^7 Msun与速度-延迟结构一致。CIV以及可能Ly_alpha线轮廓上从红向蓝移动的条纹状理发店柱模式,暗示了绕宽线区远侧旋转的方位角结构存在,并可能是内盘结构进动或轨道运动的标志。未来对NGC 5548跨越多年但步长或许为10天而非1天的进一步HST观测,有助于澄清这一新AGN现象的本质。
