J1713+0747 24小时全球联测对单源引力波的限制

摘要

持续24小时的密集脉冲星计时观测提供了一种探测10微赫兹至20毫赫兹中频引力波 (GW) 的方法。欧洲脉冲星计时阵列 (EPTA)、北美纳赫兹引力波天文台 (NANOGrav)、帕克斯脉冲星计时阵列 (PPTA) 以及联合的国际脉冲星计时阵列 (IPTA) 均利用毫秒脉冲星观测来探测或约束通常在纳赫兹频段的引力波。在 IPTA 使用九台望远镜对毫秒脉冲星 J1713+0747 进行的24小时全球联测中,可以产生中频段的引力波上限。观测期间色散量的微小变化最大限度地减少了计时残差中的红噪声,从而约束了来自单个源的引力波的任何贡献。在 105^{-5} Hz 处,对于脉冲星方向上的引力波源,应变的95%置信上限为 1011^{-11}
