中等极性星 EX Hydrae 是 2000 年 5 月至 6 月进行大规模多波段观测活动的目标。本文报告了来自 Rossi X 射线计时探测器的光度测量数据，以及来自地面观测站的光学光度与光谱数据。氢捕获线径向速度和多普勒图提供了证据，表明盘外缘存在一条延伸的星系盘，以及来自热点材料的某种形式的延伸/溢出物。此外，光学二进星遮光现象具有延伸的离去肩部，暗示除了白矮星之外还有另一个来源正在遮光中显现。我们还将 X 射线与光学结果与来自 EUV 和 UV 观测的多波段数据进行了比较。
