尽管指出经典暴动变量星（CV）在全球星团中普遍较少，尤其在 NGC 6624 星团中更为如此，但我们意外发现了此类星体距离星团中心约 6 角秒处。哈勃太空站对亮度约为 22 的天体的光谱显示出强烈、宽广的发射线，这些特征与众多野生 CV 类似，推导出的光学和紫外亮度也类似。我们的偶然观察还提供了全球星团 CV 首次高品质紫外光谱。我们能够在仅覆盖星团中心区域几 percent 的观测中检测到此类天体，可能表明全球星团中的 CV 更常见，以至少在核心区域。
