研究了等离子体中一维棒状带电粒子或尘埃颗粒链中的三维旋转振荡模式。分析了这些模式的色散特性。分析了棒不同平衡取向的稳定性、不同平衡之间的相变，以及对约束势相对强度的临界依赖性。讨论了这些过程与液晶、纳米管和等离子体镀膜的关系。
