我们重新审视了将DAMA实验观测到的年度调制信号解释为主要由与质子的自旋相关耦合的WIMP所引起的这一解释。我们考虑了轴矢量和赝标量耦合，以及弹性、吸热和放热非弹性散射。我们得出结论，DAMA信号与其他直接探测实验的零结果（特别是PICASSO和KIMS）存在强烈矛盾。
