等离子体层与电离层间密度管道的地基实时成像

摘要

太阳光照使地球大气电离,在地球磁层内形成复杂的多层等离子体环境,最内层为电离层和等离子体层。普遍认为等离子体层内嵌有沿地球磁场排列的圆柱形密度结构(管道),但直接证据一直稀缺。本文报道了利用一种新型地基成像技术,首次直接大视角观测到连接上电离层与内等离子体层的大规模场向管道阵列。我们通过特征追踪和视差分析确定了它们的高度和运动。这些结构排列异常有序,表现为规则间隔、交替出现的过密和欠密管状结构,并与地球磁场高度对齐。这些发现为此类结构的存在提供了首个直接视觉证据。
