Kiwi先进研究与教育网络（KAREN）已被用于在新西兰沃克沃斯射电天文台与参与联合项目和VLBI观测的各国际组织之间传输大量射电天文数据。我们在此报告连接现状以及不同数据传输协议的测试结果。我们研究了诸如'tsunami'和UDT等新的UDP协议，并证明UDT协议比'tsunami'和'ftp'更高效。我们还报告了从射电望远镜接收系统到相关中心无需中间缓冲或记录的直接数据流（实时eVLBI）测试。
