我们展示了利用 Project 1640 获得的暗弱白矮星伴星 HD 114174 B 的首个近红外光谱。我们的光谱覆盖 Y、J 和 H 波段，结合先前的 TRENDS 测光测量，使我们能够对该伴星施加进一步的限制。我们提出两种可能的情形：该天体要么是一颗古老的、低质量、冷的 H 大气白矮星，有效温度 Teff ~ 3800 K；要么是一颗高质量白矮星，Teff > 6000 K，可能伴有一个相关的冷（Teff ~ 700 K）褐矮星或碎屑盘，导致 L 波段中的红外超出。我们还提供了 2014 年 6 月 12 日的额外天体测量点，并利用建模的伴星质量结合 RV（视向速度）和直接成像数据来限制该伴星的轨道参数。
