Profinite groups and the fixed points of coprime automorphisms

Abstract

The main result of the paper is the following theorem. Let qq be a prime and AA an elementary abelian group of order q3q^3. Suppose that AA acts coprimely on a profinite group GG and assume that CG(a)C_G(a) is locally nilpotent for each aA#a\in A^{\#}. Then the group GG is locally nilpotent.
