Non-metacyclic groups acting with nilpotent centralizers

Abstract

Let AA be a non-metacyclic finite group. Suppose that AA acts coprimely on a finite group GG in such a manner that CG(a)C_G(a) is nilpotent for any aA#a\in A^{\#}. In the present paper we investigate some conditions on AA which imply that GG is nilpotent with ``bounded'' nilpotency class. More precisely, we generalize known results on action of qq-groups and Frobenius groups, where qq is a prime.
