Praesepe 星团与七颗白矮星

摘要
我们报告从对Praesepe 开放星团的初步调查中发现的两颗新发现的光谱确认的白矮星候选成员。我们推导WD0837+218和WD0837+185(LB5959)的有效温度和表面引力，分别为17845+555-565 K和log g=8.48+0.07-0.08，14170+1380-1590 K和log g=8.46+0.15-0.16。利用理论演化轨迹，我们估算这些白矮星的质量和冷却年龄分别为0.92±0.05 Msun和280+40-30 Myr，0.90±0.10 Msun和500+170-100 Myr。采用合理的星团年龄，我们推断WD0837+218和WD0837+185的前体质量分别为2.6<M<Mcrit Msun和2.4<M<3.5 Msun，其中Mcrit为白矮星前体的最大质量。我们简要讨论这些发现与开放星团中白矮星缺乏现象以及初始质量-最终质量关系。
