摘要

我们利用位于 Mt. Abu 观测站的1.2m口望远镜，对彗星C/2000 WM1进行了线性偏振观测，观测时间为2001年11月和2002年3月。11月份的观测在低相位角( $<~22\degr$ )下进行，当时偏振值为负值，且大多数彗星的数据在此条件下较为稀少。3月份的观测在相位角约为47\degr时进行。观测通过IHW窄带滤镜和BVR宽带滤镜进行。基于这些偏振观测，我们推断彗星C/2000 WM1属于高偏振类别，即尘彗星家族。
