摘要

统一日冕与日球的偏振仪(PUNCH)任务是NASA小型探索者任务,旨在确定统一日冕和日球的跨尺度过程。PUNCH有两个科学目标:(1)理解日冕结构如何成为环境太阳风;(2)理解瞬态结构(如日冕物质抛射)在年轻太阳风中的动态演化。为实现这些目标,PUNCH使用由四颗小型航天器组成的太阳同步低地球轨道星座,收集K日冕和年轻太阳风的线偏振图像。四颗航天器各携带一个可见光成像器,采用1+3配置:一台单窄视场成像日冕仪在所有方位角捕获外日冕图像,太阳张角从1.5度(6 R⊙)到8度(32 R⊙);三台独立的宽视场成像日球仪共同捕获整个内太阳系的视图,太阳张角从3度(12 R⊙)到45度(180 R⊙)。PUNCH图像包含线偏振数据,以在不使用立体视觉的情况下推断可见特征的三维结构。仪器在波长通带方面匹配,支持重叠的瞬时视场,并同步运行,作为一个以太阳为中心、90度宽视场的"虚拟仪器"。PUNCH于2025年3月发射,并于2025年6月开始科学运行。PUNCH采用开放数据政策,无专有期,PUNCH科学团队会议向所有人开放。
