普朗克早期结果XXIV:弥漫星际介质和银河系晕中的尘埃

本文介绍了将普朗克和IRAS数据与绿岸望远镜在14个覆盖超过800平方度的高银纬区域的21厘米观测进行比较的初步结果。对于平均HI柱密度低于2 x 10^20 cm^-2的区域,银河系尘埃发射与21厘米发射相关性良好。这些区域中,在移除与HI相关的发射后的残余发射,与宇宙红外背景涨落的预期统计性质一致。柱密度较大的区域显示出相对于HI柱密度的显著过量尘埃发射。过量区域位于有组织的结构中,表明存在分子形式的氢,尽管它们并不总是与CO发射相关。中速云的尘埃发射被高显著性探测到。其光谱性质与局部ISM值相比,表现为显著更热的尘埃(T~20 K)、更低的亚毫米尘埃不透明度,以及非常小颗粒与大颗粒的相对丰度高出约四倍。这些结果与作为银河系喷泉一部分的云的预期相符,其中存在尘埃破碎和碎裂。高速云中的相关尘埃发射未被探测到;在857和3000 GHz处,发射率的99.9%置信度上限平均值是局部ISM值的0.15倍,这与这些云中较低金属丰度和耗损的气相证据一致。在局部ISM和IVC中,识别出尘埃温度和每个H原子发射截面的意外反相关变化,这种趋势延续到分子环境中。这表明通过聚集实现的尘埃生长,在分子云中可见,在云凝聚和恒星形成过程中要活跃得多。
