PIP2-BD:费米实验室PIP-II直线加速器上的GeV质子束流靶

摘要

PIP-II超导射频直线加速器目前正在费米实验室建设,预计于2028年底完工。PIP-II能够以连续波模式运行,并可同时向兆瓦级GeV尺度束流靶设施以及LBNF/DUNE提供800 MeV质子。目前正在研究质子累积环的设计,以将PIP-II质子聚束为 neutrinos 与低质量暗物质实验所需的短脉冲。PIP2-BD是一个拟议的100吨LAr仅闪烁实验,其探测器设计受CENNS-10与CCM启发,将对超出标准模型(BSM)物理具有世界领先的灵敏度,包括PIP-II质子束流靶中产生的低质量暗物质。
