事件视界尺度上人马座A*的持久非对称结构

摘要

银河系中心黑洞人马座A*(Sgr A*)是事件视界望远镜(EHT)的主要观测目标,该望远镜能够分辨该源在角尺度上与广义相对论阴影相当的1.3毫米辐射。以往的EHT观测利用可见度振幅来推断毫米波辐射的形态。相位中包含着可能丰富得多的源信息。我们报道了EHT在4年间共13个观测夜晚获得的Sgr A*的1.3毫米相位信息。采用闭合相位(沿干涉仪基线闭合三角形上可见度相位之和)是因为它们对仪器和快速变化大气引入的相位损坏具有鲁棒性。包含加利福尼亚、夏威夷和亚利桑那望远镜的三角形上的中位闭合相位非零。这一结果确凿地表明毫米波辐射在几个史瓦西半径尺度上是不对称的,并可用于打破仅由振幅数据固有的180度旋转模糊。在大多数观测夜晚闭合相位符号的稳定性表明Sgr A*图像中存在持久的非对称性,且未被视线方向上星际电子的折射所掩盖。
