利用早期束流碰撞数据评估 Belle II 谱仪的气凝胶RICH计数器的性能

摘要

气凝胶环形成像切伦科夫(ARICH)计数器是 Belle II 谱仪前向端盖区中的粒子鉴别装置。它通过探测二氧化硅气凝胶辐射体中发射的切伦科夫光子,能够鉴别动量高达 4GeV/c4 \, {\rm GeV}/c 的π介子和K介子。在探测器对齐和概率密度函数校准之后,我们利用早期束流碰撞数据评估 ARICH 计数器的性能。采用 D+D0π+(D0Kπ+)D^{\ast +} \to D^0 \pi^+ (D^0 \to K^-\pi^+) 的事件样本来确定 π(K)\pi(K) 效率和 K(π)K(\pi) 误鉴别概率。我们发现,在π介子误鉴别概率为 10.9±0.9%10.9 \pm 0.9 \, \% 时,ARICH 计数器能够以 93.5±0.6%93.5 \pm 0.6 \, \% 的鉴别效率将K介子与π介子分离。本文描述了该计数器的鉴别方法及其在早期运行期间的性能评估。
