P V与O型星质量损失的矛盾

在对LMC O型星中P V风线进行先前分析的基础上，我们分析了一组经由射电通量或Hα轮廓确定经验质量损失率的银河系O型星中的P V风线。由于风分析提供了\dot{M}q的测量值，其中q为该离子的电离分数，我们观察性地确定q(P V)。尽管模型预测q应约为1（对于中等O型星），但我们发现q(P V)在整个O型星中均小于0.15。我们讨论了这一矛盾的起源。
