未解析的银河及更远处的合并双星中子星会在 LISA 频段内产生随机引力波背景，这可能对可能探测根本更有趣的原始宇宙背景的工作造成干扰。本文关注这些系统轨道不可避免的离心率对该背景性质的影响。特别地，我们检讨了从哪个频率开始，LISA 进行一年观察即可排除由银河中离心轨道双星中子星产生的噪声。我们得出结论，这些双星的谐波在约 Hz 以上贡献的显著贡献不大。
