我们已从光学上证认了一个最近发现的INTEGRAL源IGR J08390--4833为一个激变变星，即一个双星系统中的吸积白矮星。光谱显示出上升的蓝色连续谱以及巴耳末线和HeII发射线。对源的光变曲线分析清楚地表明存在约一小时时间尺度上的内禀变率，尽管我们不声称这种变率是周期性的。因此，我们尚无法将该天体归类为特定的CV子类。
