在粒子 Marangoni 型运动的研究中，表面张力常近似为温度的线性函数。对于处于线性外温度梯度中、远离参考点的可变形粒子，该近似给出负的表面张力，这在物理上是不合理的。研究表明 H.Zhou 和 R.H.Davis J. Colloid Interface Sci., n.181,60,1996 给出的计算中，领先的可变形液滴运动到了负表面张力区域。关于数值研究，以漂移时间给出了两个可变形液滴迁移的限制。
