确定被氦中子物质厚层覆盖的异星恒星半径的最小值。讨论了厚层（达到中子滴落点）的最大可能厚度，以及某些作者所主张的薄厚层可能性。具有最大厚层的异星恒星最小半径为5.5公里。给出关于描述异星物质及厚层底部密度的主要参数的有用缩放公式。
