我们使用辐射冷却的原子物理学计算，以确定辐射性冲击波的不稳定性准则。我们的计算解释了 Grun 等人对冲击波不稳定性测量，并解释了为何在其他实验中未观察到不稳定性。这里描述的方法在相关属性可通过光谱学测量但有效 adiabatic index 较难确定的天体物理情形下尤为有用。
