我们展示了来自红外光谱项目的结果，这些项目旨在检验黑洞质量M_BH与其宿主星系核球中恒星速度弥散之间的关系。我们证明，借助自适应光学的近红外高分辨率光谱是填充该关系高光度端的关键。我们表明，来自活动星系核窄线区气体的中红外高电离谱线的速度弥散遵循相同的关系。这一结果为推断宇宙学上重要的被遮蔽的2型活动星系核的M_BH估计提供了一种方法，该方法可适用于下一代红外望远镜上光谱仪的数据。
