过去十年间，文献中出现了多种用于描述活动星系核（AGN）红外辐射的环（torus）模型。这包括使用平滑或团块状尘埃的辐射转移模型以及流体动力学模型。我将回顾目前使用的各类模型，指出它们在解释观测数据时的主要相似点、差异及局限性。最后，讨论了这些模型当前及未来面临的观测挑战。
