ODIN:利用 DESI 对 Ly$\alpha$-发射星系样本进行光谱验证

One-hundred-deg^2 DECam Imaging in Narrowbands(ODIN)调查正在对等方位与南方天空进行最宽域深窄带成像。ODIN 使用三个自行构建的窄带(NB)滤镜,对 z=2.4、3.1 和 4.5 处的 Lyα\alpha 发射星系(LAE)进行薄宇宙片切片取样。在本工作中,我们利用 ODIN 选中星系在 COSMOS 和 XMM-LSS 场的广泛 DESI 光谱仪器,以验证 LAE 选择。2-4 小时的曝露与 DESI 获得了 3075 个 ODIN LAE 候选对象的红移确认,其 NB 亮度为 26~mag 以下。限于获得高置信度红移的星系,其确认率分别为 (93, 96, 92)%,对应 z=(2.4, 3.1, 4.5)。主要污染物由位于预期 Lyα\alpha 红移范围内的活跃星系核(A)以及较低红移 (C IV, C III]) 组成,其余为星形成星系([O II] 和 [O III])。我们发现 [O II] 发射星系在样本中的污染极少 (<~1%),这表明我们的 REW>20 A 窄带光度过度要求足以去除它们。
