我们分析了来自 ESO Distant Cluster Survey 的两个 z=0.7 和 z=0.8 星系团的 restframe (U-V) 颜色-星 magnitudes 关系。通过与 Coma 星系团中红色星系的population进行比较，我们显示高红移星系团缺乏被动暗红色星系。我们的结果表明，红色序列的population无法用单体且同步的形成场景来解释。今天集群中大量暗淡被动星系的星际活动已在 z<0.8 前 relatively recently 移到红色序列上。
