以最小假设观测中等质量黑洞GW190521

摘要

2019年5月21日,Advanced LIGO与Advanced Virgo探测器观测到引力波瞬变事件GW190521,这是迄今探测到的最重双黑洞并合,其遗迹质量为142\, M_\odot,已于近期发表。该观测是中等质量黑洞存在的首个强证据。此观测的显著性由相干WaveBurst (cWB) 搜索算法确定,该算法在对其源模型作最小假设下识别出GW190521。本文展示cWB无需信号模板即可探测双黑洞的能力,描述GW190521探测的细节,并确立cWB对GW190521的模型无关重构与双黑洞理论波形模型的一致性。
