利用西藏大气簇射阵列观测费米亮银河源的 TeV 伽马射线

摘要

利用西藏-III大气簇射阵列,我们在费米大面积望远镜在 100 MeV 以上能量获得的早期亮源列表中,搜寻了 27 个潜在银道面源的 TeV 伽马射线。其中,我们观测到 7 个源,而非在 2 sigma 或更高显著性超出下的预期 0.61 个源。根据泊松统计,偶然概率估计为 3.8 x 10^-6。如果西藏-III阵列观测到的超出分布具有朝向银道面的密度梯度,则偶然关联的预期源数可能会增加。随后,基于简单的蒙特卡洛模拟,偶然概率略微上升至 1.2 x 10^-5。这些极低的偶然概率清楚地表明,费米亮银道面源与 TeV 伽马射线超出具有统计上显著的相关性。我们还发现所有 7 个源均与脉冲星相关,其中 6 个与 Milagro 实验在 35 TeV 代表能量下以 3 sigma 或更高显著性探测到的源相符合。西藏-III大气簇射阵列在费米源(与 Milagro >=3sigma 源相符)周围观测到的显著性图与 Milagro 的观测结果一致。这是费米亮银道面源在 TeV 能区北天巡天的首个结果。
