湍流感应大尺度磁场的观测

摘要
将轴对称磁场施加到球形的液态钠湍流中。测量到一个感应的磁偶极矩,该偶极矩无法通过轴对称平均流与所施加磁场的相互作用产生,表明存在湍流电动势。结果表明,对于任何轴对称层流,感应偶极矩都应消失。还观察到从施加的极向磁场产生环向磁场(omega效应)。讨论了其在产生感应偶极矩中的潜在作用。
