如今已有几十个GRB红移数据，使我们能够研究这些高能瞬态现象的内在特性。Amati等人最近发现了Epeak（ 光谱的本征峰能量）与Eiso（源辐射的等效各向同性能量）之间的相关性。Lamb等人表明，HETE-2数据确认并扩展了这一相关性。我们在此讨论这一相关性的一个后果：存在一种'光谱标准烛台'，可用于构建GRB的简单红移指示器。
