O VI 高速云：它们在何处，以及它们是什么？

随着 Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer 任务和装配在 Hubble Space Telescope 上 Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph 的新观测，关于高速云 (HVC) 系统的我们看法正在发生巨大变化。特别是 O VI 吸收的检测表明，许多 HVCs 除了通过 H I 21cm 辐射检测到的中性气体外，还具有热的、非热等离子体组成。对该气体电离程度的更好理解将有助于确定某些 HVCs 的距离，并进而约束热 Galactic corona 或 Local Group 介质的性质。本文简要概述了一些关于 O VI HVCs的最近观测。
