NURE:一项研究无中微子双贝塔衰变核反应的ERC项目

摘要

无中微子双贝塔衰变(0{\nu}\b{eta}\b{eta})被认为是确定中微子绝对质量标度的最佳潜在途径。此外,若被观测到,它将表明总轻子数不守恒且中微子是其自身的反粒子。目前,这一物理案例是超越标准模型最重要的研究之一,并可能指引通向基本相互作用大统一理论的道路。由于\b{eta}\b{eta}衰变过程涉及原子核,其分析必然隐含核结构问题。0{\nu}\b{eta}\b{eta}衰变率可表示为独立因子的乘积:相空间因子、核矩阵元(NME)以及中微子物种质量的函数。因此,若测得0{\nu}\b{eta}\b{eta}衰变率,对NME的了解可提供关于中微子质量标度的信息。在由欧洲研究委员会起步资助支持的NURE项目中,双电荷交换(DCE)核反应将被用作提取\b{eta}\b{eta} NME信息的工具。在DCE反应与\b{eta}\b{eta}衰变中,初态与末态核相同且跃迁算符具有相似结构。因此,DCE绝对截面的测量可提供关于\b{eta}\b{eta}矩阵元的关键信息。
