μ子加子器设计

摘要

μ子加子器在与强子和电子机器进行比较时具有独特的技术与物理优势与劣势。因此,它们应被视为互补的方案。给出了4 TeV和0.5 TeV高亮度μ+μ-加子器,以及0.5 TeV低亮度演示机器的参数。我们讨论了此类μ子加子器中的各种系统,从产生μ子所需的质子加速器,到μ子制冷、加速和在环形加子器中的储存。讨论了探测器背景、极化和非标准运行条件。
