SPTpol 100平方度巡天中的毫米波暂现点源

摘要

毫米波暂现天空在很大程度上未被探索,其测量仅限于对其他波长探测到的天体的后续观测。为高角分辨率设计用于测量宇宙微波背景的望远镜提供了在此波段发现新的、未知的暂现源的可能性,特别是未观测到的伽马射线暴的余辉。在此,我们使用10米毫米波南极望远镜(其设计主要目的为在角分及更大角尺度上观测宇宙微波背景),来搜寻此类天体。在2012-2013观测季期间,该望远镜使用偏振敏感的SPTpol相机在分别以95和150 GHz为中心的两个波段,连续观测了以赤经23h30m、赤纬-55度为中心的100平方度天区。这些6000小时的观测提供了对10 mJy水平上从天到月尺度的毫米波暂现源的连续监测。观测到一个候选天体,其性质与伽马射线暴余辉大体一致,但统计显著性过低(p=0.01)而无法确认探测。
