ELT 时代利用 VSI(VLTI 光谱成像仪)进行毫角秒级天体物理研究

摘要

如今,只有处于干涉模式的 VLT 才能在毫角秒尺度上研究致密源,例如邻近恒星的表面、从早期阶段到最演化阶段的恒星周环境以及活动星系核的周围环境。我们提出了一种名为 VSI(VLTI 光谱成像仪)的光谱成像仪,它能够在近红外域的空间和光谱尺度上探测这些源。该仪器将提供与 ALMA 在不同波长下以及极大望远镜同时获得的信息互补的数据。
