对年轻褐矮星周围吸积盘的观测引发了它们可能像普通恒星一样形成行星系统的猜想。尽管已有几次在褐矮星周围探测到行星质量天体(2MASS 1207-3932和2MASS 0441-2301),但这些伴星具有相对较大的质量比和投影间距,表明它们以类似于恒星双星的方式形成。我们通过引力微透镜发现了一颗行星质量天体绕场褐矮星运行,即OGLE-2012-BLG-0358Lb。该系统是一个低次级/主星质量比(0.080 ± 0.001)、相对紧密分离(~0.87 AU)的双星,由一个质量为1.9 ± 0.2木星质量的行星质量天体绕一颗质量为0.022 M_sun的褐矮星组成。相对较小的质量比和分离距离表明,该伴星可能是在褐矮星宿主周围的原行星盘中形成的,方式类似于行星。
